The laws concerning British citizenship are complicated.  There are several classes and categories of nationality that make it difficult to determine if British citizenship can be passed on to children.  An individual may be eligible for British citizenship if they have a British parent; this depends on when and where they were born and the parents’ circumstances.  They may also be able to apply for citizenship through naturalization, registration, or adoption.
